Plate Six
Battle Hymns for a New Republic
Bent13

Released: Sept 2005

Battle Hymns for a New Republic is the second full-length album from Plate Six. It is an appeal for rejecting the futile pursuits of popular culture and focusing our energies on art and positive change. A vast amount of youth energy is spent wrapped up in word wars under the banner of politics which result in no net action--just one empty word against another. "Battle Hymns" swings a bat at the hollow distractions around us, clearing way for a new and real task of defining yourself in a vast world rather than bouncing from one meaningless identity to the next.
"Battle Hymns" was recorded by Jim Marrer at Zero Return studios intermittently from February-June 2005. The sounds you hear are the band without tweaks, edits, or overdub corrections; taking still air and inciting it to make great music.
