The Two Tears is the latest flowering of musical exploits from Kerry Davis. A founding member of the Red Aunts and Beehive and the Barracudas, among others, Kerry has now crossed into the realm of the Two Tears. Her style has been pared down into an eclectic mix of raw, pensive rock from the place in the soul where the carefree and melancholy intertwine. Kerry guides us through her world with a delicate, sometimes quaking voice. Her songs rest on the sprit of a beat-up Gibson and a rotating cast of backing musicians - each adding a unique flair to the curious collective that is the Two Tears. The Two Tears's first full-length release, "Enjoy Yourself", is a varied mix of the old and the new, the simple and the grand, the quirky and the divine. From the pointed hostility of "Shit Fucking Job" all the way to the dreamy escapism of "Wiggle Like a Worm." The songs are deceptively simple - revealing their more of their intricacies and spirit the more you relent to their will. At times happy, at times haunted, the songs of the Two Tears toe the line between cries of joy and calls for help, highlighting the fears and satisfactions of everyday life that lie within us all.
